BODY:
I have a wise mother. Sometimes I am not sure if she has any idea how much she means to me--not just in the "she's me mum" sort of way. She is just so smart and lovely and kind and wonderful. Now if she wasn't so bloody far away...
Anyway, today we were discussing how I feel like I get nothing done and how depressed I am by that. She, in her matter of fact way, reminded me that E will only be young once and that a baby is a lot of work!
So I decided that I need to operate more from a place of what I have, rather than what I don't. I am beginning to realise I do a lot of this--glass half empty and all that. So here is what I have done today:
- Played with E. He loves to stare up at me after a feed and laugh. His favourite games at the moment are anything where you touch his face and kicking. He has also started batting his toys on his play mat. His favourite toy is still the Planes, trains and auto mobiles mobile that Grandpa Bill got him.
- Carried E around the house for hours. He's been a bit grizzly today and needs lots of cuddles.
- Worked on nursing in the new (to be) babyhawk. I forgot to say I got a used one really cheaply. Its great--more comfy than my pouches for longer carries. I want to be able to nurse him in a sling for when I go to the US and I am not thrilled about getting the boobs out in front of family.
- Did the dishes
- Finished thank you cards (now I just have to post them...)
- Uploaded more pics and blogs to keep my family and friends in touch
- Did Laundry
- Tidied the living room
- Phoned for test results (this IS the NHS people. Phoning in takes HOURS to get through)
- Stretched my neck and back-- I fell really badly on tuesday--wet feet + hurrying to get phone + wet feet= PAIN
- Found a very inspirational blog about this family trying to simplify. Read it here
Not bad and its only 3:30pm
