Ok, here you go...another post. Gosh, you'd think the Harrison-Goldin household is interesting with all of the requests we get for MORE posts and pictures! I am sorry that all has been silent. We've had a hectic week--thrush, immunizations, crying baby, bad dog, nappy rash, broken chairs and mum's group pictures and BBQ. But here we are, back to entertain you with our antics. Lets see, where to start. Mr HG has been a bit of a monster. He's not really been feeling well since his imms and its been one thing after another. I can honestly say Thrush was almost reason enough to give up breastfeeding...E screamed in pain and I felt like someone was stabbing me with needles...hot needles...hot needles the size of pencils...OUCH! AFter having a number of good days, we've kind of gone back to grumpy baby, with Mr crying all day. However today he's been a bit better, but then I've kept him in the sling almost all day. He just loves to be in his slings. I don't know why I resist. We have also made progress with the pram. It seems he doesn't like to lay down in the big carry cot when he's out. He prefers to be siting up, so I've been using his car seat, which has been brilliant. He does still prefer the sling. I've had to look into some other two shoulder carriers. I did end up finding a used babyhawk, which I must say is brilliant. I got the used one to make sure we liked it rather than invest and find out that we don't like it. Well we LOVE it. He is as light as air. I am trying so hard to save up for when my pay goes down, but I may have to get another when we are in the US as its SOOOOOOOO much cheaper. argh...money flies out the window. We've also been battling nappy rash. Now I'm not sure if this is a left over from the thrush or if he's just got a sensitive botty. I think one type of his nappies has been causing problems, so I've had to switch them out. I did try disposables.--thinking it might help and trying them out for when we go to the US. What a disaster. What was a small patch of scaly skin turned into a huge rash. Apparently this is common--cloth diapered babies often react to the chemicals in disposables. This does thwart my plan not to bring the cloth ones to the US. Oh well. I will be using disposables on the plane though. I was fortunate to be able to try out some other kind of nappies that are supposed to be good for sensitive skin. They are disana tie nappies. All I have to do is write a review. THey are organic cotton and supposed to be fab. They are so cute as well. I'll get pics posted ASAP. Oh and finally. Rowan is making her grand exit on Sunday. We just decided its not fair on her to live where she doesn't get much attention, so she is going to live with a man who has two other dogs for her to play with. Probably the best decision all round.
